Almost there!

Only one quiz and the final exam remain. You're almost there!

1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.

2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to next year's Algebra students, what would it be?

3. With the end in sight, and the weather becoming more beautiful than ever, it may be a little difficult to focus during this last week.  Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year to help you stay focused?

Haha, well… DON’T BE SCARED. I can promise them at first some things they learn may be new and confusing but after a few questions, it turns out to be really simple. Also, some things may seem really simple because they’ve learned it before but they don’t want to be too confident and not review anything. Even though they may have learned the basics to some of the things, they also learn a lot of other fresh concepts that have more depth in them so they need to make sure they finish all their assignments and ask questions BEFORE the next class so that they can keep up the next class. The most important thing is actually the hardest thing but, everything will seem a lot more easier if they actually enjoy math. ^^

Well, the only times I actually focussed on math were when I was helping someone else with math. Other than that I took everything really lightly and only worked hard when there was a project. However, I’m really going to need to push myself a little further during the last week before finals so that I can stay focussed on my work. Normally I don’t make a schedule but this time I’m planning to make a small schedule with everything I need to do everyday and check things off. I’m also planning to work on a study guide everyday adding notes and problems to it everyday so even if I don’t stay focussed during class, I will have the study guide at home to make sure I don’t forget anything since the last week before finals is basically just a review.
    So…
    keeping a schedule
Make a study guide with daily questions

    Excited, nervous, ready

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to next year's Algebra students, what would it be?

The first tip I would give to next year's Algebra students is that they should take notes on material they don't know. Mr. Jobe gives great notes, and gives everything that you have to know for the test or a quiz. Also, you should keep organized and keep all of your tests in folder, and don't forget to do your homework. Also, don't be afraid to come in and ask Mr. Jobe for help. That is what I did, and it helped me a lot. Honestly, if you pay attention in class, complete all the homework assignments, and focus, you will do well. Finally, enjoy math class. If you enjoy this class, you will do well!! GOOD LUCK!!~~

    3. With the end in sight, and the weather becoming more beautiful than ever, it may be a little difficult to focus during this last week. Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year to help you stay focused?

What I will do differently these two weeks are focus better. During the finals week, I will focus on school work first, and go on facebook later. I will also make study guides, not just for math, but for all subjects. And ask the teachers questions on material I don't understand. I will also challenge myself to stay more organized then ever, and I will study from this week so that I don't have to cram my studying in one night. I will also make a very specific schedule that tells me when I need to study what subject, and what chapter I need to review.

    1) I will control the amount of time I go on Facebook and Skype and always ask questions when I am not sure about any material.
    2) I will organize all my notes and review everything I ever did and review the material I don't know very well.

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to next year's Algebra students, what would it be?

Always do your homework, take notes whenever you need to, double check your work during tests and eat a lot before you do a scavenger hunt.

I will control the amount of time I use for my free time and I will review my notes and everything I learned in order to get ready for 8th grade.

    2. Always make sure you're in your seat before the bell rings because Mr. Jobe might mark you tardy for not being in your seat. Also make sure to take good notes because they really help when you get stuck on homework or study for tests.

    3. I will turn on self control and make sure I finish all of my homework and studying before I do other things that I want to do. I'll try to review my notes as much as possible by taking them everywhere I go. I think the most important thing is to review my notes and ask questions if I need any more help.

  8. 1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.

Happy - I am very happy yet excited right now, because recently I actually reviewed all the concepts of Algebra as well as solving some questions that might come out in the finals. As a result, I feel positive that I won't do badly on the test resulting in my feeling that I am happy.

Nervous - I am happy and zealous yet I do feel a bit nervous at the fact that there might have been something that I forgot to review for the final, which can critically drop my grade if it is an important concept. In order to get rid of this feeling, I will have to review once more with all the concepts of Algebra in it so that I can ACE the test.

Zealous - I feel very zealous at the fact that finals are coming. I am very willing to challenge the Algebra finals right now, and I am ready to win, and I feel positive that I won't fail the Algebra Finals. However, that is not the only reason why I feel zealous, because I also welcome my summer vacation which will contain a lot of exciting activities.

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to next year's Algebra students, what would it be?

ALWAYS ALWAYS SHOW WORK! Or you will get points off for every problems on the test. And on finals, review all the concepts in order to make those concepts last for a longer time. If you just read it once before the test, it won't last long until the finals. And lastly, try to best to try to solve the problem so that you can at least get partial credits instead of getting a zero for the whole problem. Even on home works, if you just leave a question blank just because you don't know the problem you will get points off. If you don't get a problem at all, ask the problem to the teacher so that on the test, you won't get points off nor get points off on the homework for leaving a question with a blank answer.

I have once seen an newspaper about how Spring brings out sleepiness. As a result, the TV Show gave some solutions. Sleeping at afternoon would actually help you not sleep at night twice as much as you slept in the afternoon. For example when you slept at 4 pm until 5 pm, you would be able to stand up for two more hours, which is benefitting an extra hour. Another way would to take a shower. When you take a shower with warm water, your sleepiness goes away as well as your lactic acid (the chemical that makes you tired). Not only that, your refreshing feeling would come back letting to concentration in a higher level.

So in conclusion, my solution to being able to concentrate:
    1. Sleep in the afternoon
    2. Take a shower to bring back refreshing feeling and getting rid of tiredness.

  9. 1. Write three adjectives to describe how you're feeling.
    Anxious, Enthusiastic, Optimistic

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to next year's Algebra students, what would it be?
Never forget to show ALL WORK. Even if the answers are correct for any home works or worksheets, the final grade for those would range between from 70% to 90%. Also, never leave out questions. If you don't understand the question or don't know how to solve it, go see your math teacher after arranging the time via email or person to person. You are not restricted from asking questions. Teachers are here to help you understand and improve, and that is what they want to see from you. Additionally, if you do not understand the material that your class is learning during class, take notes. These notes will help you in future assessments such as quizzes and tests.

    1) I would turn on the airconditioner in my room, and drink ice water to keep me from falling asleep
    2) Sleep for an hour or two during the day

Always take notes on what Mr. Jobe writes down and listen well in class. Do all of your homework and study for the tests. Ask Mr. Jobe for help when stuck in a unit.

    1) I would study harder and study for the finals so that I try my hardest until the end of the year.

    2) I will organize my notes and review back and go over everything that was learned this year.

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to next year's Algebra students, what would it be?
An advice I would give to the next year's Algebra students is stay tidy. In the beginning of the year, I wasn't tidy and I would just borrow a pier's paper and eventually throw it away. However, after I got a binder and started collecting all the work I got back, I was able to study for tests and turn in homework without losing it. Another advice I would give would be make sure to turn in your homework all the time. If you get a 0 for homework, your grade can really drop down, so make sure to always do your homework and study for tests!

    3. With the end in sight, and the weather becoming more beautiful than ever, it may be a little difficult to focus during this last week. Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year to help you stay focused?
One thing I will do differently this last week is really study at home. Usually when I get home, I study then play then study then play. However, since it's the last week of 8th grade, I'm going to try to study 90% of the time. Secondly, I will go through my notes. There are some subjects where I take the test without reviewing. Even though I might get A's, I think it will be even more awesome if I get a 100! For the last week, I will review my notes and try to get a 100 or at least an A!

Always keep all your tests and notebooks. Always take down notes on what Mr.Jobe tells you. Always stay on task and never slack off homework is very important to do. Always ask question to the teacher. There are no stupid questions and teacher's are there to help you and support you. Always bring your material to class such as pencils and erasers.

    3. With the end in sight, and the weather becoming more beautiful than ever, it may be a little difficult to focus during this last week. Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year to help you stay focused?
One thing I will do different during this last week is study really hard, since its finals week I have to study really hard and try my best to get a good grade. Last thing I will do different this last week is instead of studying all day and being sleepy I will have an regular sleeping time so the next day I am fresh and not sleepy and grumpy.

    2. If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to next year's Algebra students, what would it be?
In Algebra, the math materials suddenly gets harder, with factoring, radical expressions, and all that. In Pre-Algebra, there were lots of repeated things that reviewed the previous course, but Algebra is different. They should be prepared for every class and do their homework so that they can catch up with the class.

    3. With the end in sight, and the weather becoming more beautiful than ever, it may be a little difficult to focus during this last week. Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year to help you stay focused?
One thing I will do differently is focusing on studying for finals. Finals are the last grades on powerschool that will affect and bring down or higher by final grade. Second, I will sleep earlier because I have slept over 2:00 AM for the past few days because of great amount of homework and tests. If I don't get to sleep well, I often doze off in classes and can't concentrate well.

If you were to give some advice (or a warning) to next year's Algebra students, what would it be?
If you do your homework in your best-effort, you would success in Algebra class and every tests and quizzes. Take good notes of the presentation and take notes that you don’t know when Mr. Jobe is teaching.

With the end in sight, and the weather becoming more beautiful than ever, it may be a little difficult to focus during this last week.  Name two things you will do DIFFERENTLY from what you've done all year to help you stay focused?
This week is the finals week so there are many things to do but it’s difficult to focus during the finals week. So this week I’ve planned to make a scheduler and plan my time wisely and study more efficiently. Also since I will have to stay up all night, I would sleep about two hours after school so I can stay up and focus more. When I’m studying Algebra or even other subjects I’ll go over the notes I’ve took throughout the semester.

    - Don't forget to do your homework. If you have one missing assignment, it will heavily effect your grade. Mr. Jobe will give you opportunities to make it up, but it's best for you to do every assignment. If you need help, he'll always be there. Go before school starts!

    - I'll look at all the keynotes that Mr. Jobe has uploaded in the past, and review from all the slides. Before the final, I'll get a good night sleep will result in a good test score!
