  1. 1. My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was that the activity was a great review for the Finals and how it was competitive since Ms. Lee's class was participating, too.

    2. My least favorite part was dancing Gangnam Style in front of Mr. Patrick's class.

    3. I wish there wasn't any old QR Codes around the school, because when there was a hint that said help on a computer keyboard, my group thought it was the IT. There was a QR code, so we scanned it. Fortunately, Mr. Jobe was there and told us that it was Tech Office.

    4. I think the QR codes made it more fun because we were able to use technology to help solve clues (or to get into a trap).

  2. 1. The favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was how not only we were just sitting on our desk reviewing which wouldn't have made us concentrate, we actually went outside of class and "exercised" as well as "reviewed". That was able to bring my motivation of "competition" and "will to solve the problem".

    2. My least favorite part was that the game didn't start properly. When the hunt began, some people haven't even downloaded the QR Code application. The order of the winners could have had been different when people started the game more "equally".

    3. To give more advantage to more "motivated/active" people, I think it would be the best when we put the scavenger hunt range even up to the high-school gym to the soccer field.

    4. QR Codes didn't have much problem for our team, but I heard that some groups had a hard time because the QR Code papers were sometimes damaged resulting in failure of indicating the QR Code. Maybe it would be better if the QR Code paper was more "un-damageable".

Overall, I found scavenger hunt very exciting and I wish you can make even harder for the future Algebra students so they can SUFFER-R-R-R-R.

  3. 1. My favorite part of the scavenger hunt was that we could have a lot of fun while exercising and reviewing for the final exam! I also liked how we got to be more competitive which made us work harder for the prize in my opinion.

    2. My least favorite part was when we had to humiliate ourselves if we got the wrong answer. By the end of the hunt, we already knew that we had to dance to Gangnam Style so we were all tired of dancing to the same song over and over again and then being told AGAIN that we got the wrong answer before and that we would have to go back.

    3. I would change the song or punishment every time you get an answer wrong. It's fun if you get surprised and if you already know what your punishment is, it is definitely not fun. That's why there should be various punishments so there can be an element of surprise.

    4. I think the QR Codes definitely made the scavenger hunt more exciting because if you just had a problem there, you would just solve it and leave. Plus, you would need more people to give the next instructions and other things. I think the QR Codes made it more fun with the music and short videos of Mr. Jobe. In addition, it gave very clear instructions for us to see what to do next.

  4. 1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was that we were exercising, running up and down the stairs, and was solving problems competing each other. It was fun to run to the next station after acting as if my team don't know the answer.

    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
There were some tech problems when Joy and I was doing the Scavenger Hunt. I didn't have a smart-phone, and we couldn't watch all the videos that were there for the QR codes.

    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I think it would be better to use school's Ipad for the Scavenger Hunt because there were some phones that weren't working well, and I think it would've been better if there weren't any other QR codes in school. Like Sei said, many people went to the IT office, and it turned out that it wasn't for the Scavenger Hunt.

    4) Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?
I think using QR Codes made the hunt more fun because by using the QR codes, there were some activities that were possible only using technology. The traps in the nurse was the hardest but it was really fun to hear people talking about the things they had to do because of the traps.

  5. 1) My favorite part of this scavenger hunt was interacting with the QR codes to find the questions. I also liked the clues to where to go next and what do find. It was like solving a mystery.

    2) My lease favorite part was doing the actual math. It also got frustrating when we got stuck on a station and kept hearing the "wrong wrong wrong song".

    3) I would have provided mini scooters to students because we started to get very tired even before the first station. Also, I would have made different paths for different groups because some people just asked or followed other groups without even figuring out the hint by themselves.

    4) I think they QR codes were pretty fun to use, but as always the technology can get pretty annoying. My phone couldnt reach the wifi, and sometimes the app wouldnt scan the QR code properly.

I was fascinated by this scavenger hunt.

  6. 1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was running around, interacting with my classmates and exercising while reviewing for the final exam. The S.H was a great way for us to joke around and actually have fun while solving math problems!
    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part about the Scavenger Hunt was getting sweaty. I really don't mind sweat, but we were running around like crazy trying to solve the problems and to get to the next station as fast as possible. Another part that I didn't like about the Scavenger Hunt was going to Mr. Brown's room when we got the answer wrong and having to dance to "Gentleman".
    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I agree with Kimberly about using the ipads because some of our phones (like ours) were really slow, and it took up so much of our time just by loading the problem. I think that there should be one less problem, instead there should be more problems with traps like the one in M5 and the nurses office.
    4) Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?
I think that the QR codes made the hunt really fun, and I would prefer doing the hunt with the codes. This is because if we have ordinary clues, it would have been less fun, and we also got to play with technology! Also, because we used the QR codes, people weren't shoving and slamming each other to see the problem because we each had our own on our phones!

  7. 1)The favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was the activities we had to do for the mission. If we had to only solve math and run around it would have been boring but since you also had to do many fun activities the Scavenger Hunt was fun to do. And the math questions were able to help us review what we have learned.

    2) My least favorite part was that multiple choice questions on the nurse. We had to check every qr code and solve everything to be able to get the answer for the question.

    3) To make the scavenger hunt better I think it would have been better if clues that was from the qr codes are more mysterious and harder to guess, because all the clues on the places we have to go were all easy to guess.

4)I agree that QR codes made the game more fun because we were able to play with technology and it was very surprising how it worked.

  8. Answer each of the following questions in complete sentences:
    1) My favorite part of the Scavenger was the exercising! Most math classes, we just stay in our seats solving math problems. That can make students tired and bored. However, with this scavenger hunt, we were able to exercise and review for our final in a fun way!

    2) My least favorite part was my phone. In the beginning, the QR Code scanning app wasn't downloading, so it really frustrated me. Also, even after the app got finished downloading, my phone's speaker wasn't working so we weren't able to listen to what the teachers were saying in the youtube video. Besides that, everything was fine!

    3) Something that I would change in the Scavenger hunt is really nothing. Next time I hope that the school could provide us with ipads so that everyone has an equal and fair electronic to use.

    4) The QR Codes made it even more fun because not only were we exercising, but we were also using today's electronics. I think it's always awesome using electronics in any kind of activity. Scanning made the hunt more thrilling and exciting. Next year I think they should keep using the QR Codes!

    1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was that even though we went to the wrong place, we still had missions to complete. Also, it was fun going around the school and solving problems. It was very exciting, being first place, then getting caught up, but winning again.

    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
I wish it was less obvious that if we needed to dance the Gangnam Style, we were in the wrong place. It was obvious so I knew that if it said to dance, I was in the wrong place.

    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I wish the songs for the dancing part changed. As I mentioned on the top, it was obvious that every time I had to dance the Gangnam Style, I needed to go back to the previous stage. Also, I wish the clues were a little more time-requiring because it was quite obvious where to go and who to find.

    4) Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?
I think it was better. I liked it since we were able to use technology which made the scavenger hunt more organized.

  10. 1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
My favorite part of the Scavenger hunt was constantly going up and down the stairs. We saw some people getting caught for running in the hallway, just to get to the QR codes earlier. As I walked up and down the stairs, I saw others starting to get tired as they went back and forth from the first floor to the fifth floor and back down. It was some exercise we had to do xD
    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part was when we went to the wrong room and had to dance gangnam style. As you know, I suck at dancing, and don't even know how to dance it. So, we copied the moves the other group did with us.... somewhat. :P
    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
To make the scavenger hunt better, I would have a different song for every block, so they wouldn't know what song means that they are in the wrong place. We heard rumors that Gangnam Style song was a sign that we were in the wrong place. So obviously, we immediately knew. Also, I would include more math problems related to the Pythagorean theorem.
    4) Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?
The QR codes made the hunt more interesting, and I think it saved time. If we had to ask the teacher one by one, it would take too much time, and could leak the next destination to the other team.

  11. - My favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt was to use QR code to scavenge. It was a cleaver way to keep hints and answers covered. Solving problems with QR Codes was more interesting, than to just solve problems.

    - My least favorite part of the project was when I was tricked into Mr. Patrick's room and was forced to dance. It was very embarrassing, yet it was lesson well learned. I hope to not make the same mistake again.

    - To add QR Code beyond our school limit. Not too far, but a reasonable amount. Maybe GS25. It would be the perfect exorcise for students.

    - It made it more interesting because we used an old fashion game and integrated it with modern technology. It was interesting to see that our technology has improved a lot during the last decade. It was way better to have QR Codes.

  12. 1) My favorite part of the scavenger hunt was playing with the scanners. It was fun to watch videos and to solve what the pictures meant. I had fun talking with my partner and solving the puzzles.

    2) My least favorite part in the scavenger hunt was moving up and down stairs to different locations. Being stuck on a problem was another least favorite part of the hunt.

    3) I would add more tricks so that people could end up in different places or have like a punishment for people that come in very late and for people who have missed a lot of questions.

    4) I think the QR codes made the hunt better because instead of just solving question moving from different places, scanning codes and finding puzzles of different locations.

  13. 1. My favorite part about the QR Code hunt was the part where how if you get one question wrong it can lead to a very embarrassing consequence although this was quite hard it was very entertaining. Also, the risks that we had was very thrilling how one question can throw us off and we might had to start way before again.

    2. Although the punishments were pretty fun to watch I can't get over the fact that it was soul-suckingly embarrassing. It was quite a sad punishment and I would have gotten over it if Mr.Jobe wasn't laughing at us the whole time. It also seemed like he enjoyed our embarrassment. D:

    3. Since next year I'm assuming I won't do the Scavenger Hunt so I think you should make the punishments slightly harsher. :) So everyone who laughed at me would suffer slightly more than I did.

    4. I think the hunt with the QR codes were much more fun. This is because without the QR codes there wouldn't be the fun of watching the little videos made by the teachers. Also, the QR code required the use of a smart phone and it was nice to learn how to use a QR code.

  14. Answer each of the following questions in complete sentences:
    1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)

My favorite part of the scavenger hunt was that the questions were really diverse and fun to solve. The other thing I really liked was that we were playing with another class too so it was really competitive.

    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)

My least favorite part was that we were using QR codes to solve the questions so it was really difficult sometimes when it took a long time to load. Another thing that I didn't like was that sometimes the video would lag or you couldn't hear the audio of the video.

    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)

I think that next time there is a Scavenger Hunt, there should be someplace that you can pick which way to go. In ours only the last stage was our choice but if you do it in the middle, you people won't follow each other.

    4) Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?

I personally did not like them because they often didn't load so we needed to borrow someone else's to scan them or look at them. However, it was more interesting because if you found out you did something wrong, you could look in your history to check the problem again.

  15. 1. My favorite part of the scavenger hunt was walking around the school with my partner because we could exercise and not study for the whole block.

    2. My least favorite part of the scavenger hunt was the malfunctioning QR code scanner. We couldn't get through a problem because of it.

    3. I would make problems to be more challenging and tricky. Also many people just followed the people infront of them to get to the next location

    4. I think using QR code was much more fun than sitting in class and solving problems.

  16. 1) What was your favorite part of the Scavenger Hunt? (You can have more than one favorite.)
My favorite part about the scavenger hunt was trying to figure out where we had to go and what we had to do every time we solved a problem which was tiring but enjoyable.
    2) What was your least favorite part? (Again, more than one least favorite is acceptable.)
My least favorite part was when there was slow internet connection in some rooms and it seemed impossible to finish because sometimes the question would not load.
    3) What would you change about the Scavenger Hunt to make it better? (Additions, Omissions, etc.)
I would make sure that our electronics work with the QR codes before the day of the scavenger hunt just to be sure that none of us have an advantage of having a phone that doesn't work.
    4) Did you think the QR Codes made the hunt more fun than it would have been without them? Why or why not?
Yes, I think that the QR codes mad the hunt more fun because it gave us access to the problem and we were allowed to use our phones.
