Jadyn and Clare held a birthday party at Jadyn’s house. Joanne, Alice, Jessica and Jennifer was invited to the party, but Jennifer was a little late. There were some muffins for Jadyn and Clare to eat during their birthday party. Few minutes later, Jennifer bought two more muffins for Jadyn and Clare because she felt sorry for being late. Later on, Clare divided the muffins to five equal packs for the guests to take home. Joanne, Alice, and Jessica were triplets so they took three out of the five packs of muffin. While the triplets were going home, they accidentally dropped two muffins, so the total number of muffins left for the triplets were 10 muffins. How many muffins were there at the start of the party before Jennifer arrived?
The question is functional but it is a little confusing. There are no grammatical mistakes and it is easy to solve. It would be better if you added the part that they were triplets in the beginning of the problem. I would not write this as a word problem since it is so confusing and long
Yes, This question is functional although it took me a while to understand it. The story is confusing, and a little too many details. This question is easy to solve as long as you are able to set up an equation without being confused. Yes, this story is extremely creative (maybe a little too much). This word problem includes all the parts of the equation, and defines it clearly, but try to make it less confusing please.
