Brian the prisoner hunter and his friends goes out to hunts for prisoners that ran away everyday. He gets 3 prisoners for each person for hunter and 10 more prisoners everyday. They have done this work for only 4 years. However, 10 prisoners ran away and there were only 42 prisoners left!!! How many hunts were there to hunt the prisoners?
Yes, the story fits the equation and it is functional but I would not not write this equation form this word story problem because it was a little confusing. The phrase "He gets 3 prisoners for each person" was unclear. There were no grammatical mistakes and the story was very creative! A positive point is that the story was unique
1) Does the story fit with the equation? Is it functional? Would you actually write this equation from this word story problem? The story kinda fits with the equation but it is kind of hard to understand the story. I think I will write this equation if it was explained a little clearly, I will get the correct equation.
2) Does it make sense, or is it a little confusing? Discuss what is not clear, and suggest improvements. It is a little confusing. I wish you could have cleared up the part "4(3p + 10)". I get what you are trying to explain but I think you made a mistake there.
3) Are there any grammatical mistakes? How should they be corrected? There are few mistakes. First, "his friends goes out to hunts for prisoners" needs to be changed to "goes out to hunt prisoners". Also, "He gets 3 prisoners for each person for hunter" needs to be edited to "He gets 3 prisoners per hunter".
4) Is the story creative? How could it be made better? The story is creative but you could have had more details such as the friends' names.
5) What are the positive points about the word problem? The idea is very good! I liked how you wrote about running away prisoners!! :)
Day - 1460 Brian the bounty hunter, his pet Jay Won Lee, and his friends hunt criminals. They capture them and lock them in their house. Since day one, they have captured three criminals per hunter every year. Seeing how many criminals they captured, the impressed sheriff of Texas sent ten more criminals for them to keep every year. They have now hunted for four years. However, 10 criminals just escaped and now there are only 42 criminals left in custody. How many hunters( DOES NOT COUNT PETS) including Brian were there when they were hunting criminals?
