Mr. Jobe and Mrs. Jobe went to Mr. Forestall’s Halloween party. In a hour Mr. Jobe ate 30 gummy worms, and some cupcakes, but he stopped eating after three hours because he was about to puke.
But, Mrs. Jobe still wanted to eat, so she ate for an hour more then Mr. Jobe, during this time she ate 19 gummy worms, and also ate the same amount of cupcakes as Mr. Jobe. At the end of the party, if Mr. Jobe and Mrs. Jobe ate the same amount of items of junk food, how many cupcakes did they each eat?

The story sort of fits with the equation but there were some parts that were confusing. However it is still functional and we would think about writing the equation from the word story problem. It is a little confusing. They should delete “In an hour” because it is confusing and he stopped eating after 3 hours anyway. There were no grammatical mistakes. Yes, it is creative because they used Mr. and Mrs. Jobe as the characters! The story gives a pretty clear image of the equation

First, the story does fit the equation and it is functional. We wrote this equation after reading this word story problem. It was sort of confusing on the part where Mrs. Jobe ate 19 gummy worms and then the same amount of cupcakes as Mr. Jobe, because it didn’t show if it was in one hour or the whole 4 hours.
For grammatical mistakes, first you spelled Forrestal wrong and it should be an hour instead of a hour. Also, you usually don’t start a sentence with but, you should use something like "however" instead.
The story is very creative and cute. I don’t think there is anything they should change.
The good thing about this was that the story was interesting.

  3. The story makes sense and the funny at the same time. The story mostly makes sense. The part that was confusing was when you said about "he stopped eating after 3 hours anyway". These kinds of things makes the story confusing leading the story not make sense at all. If you fix all the grammatical mistakes and change these small little mistakes, I think the story will turn out very good.

    REAL:
Mr. Jobe and Mrs. Jobe went to Mr. Forestall’s Halloween party. In one hour, Mr. Jobe ate 30 gummy worms, and some cupcakes. But he stopped eating after three hours because he was about to puke.
However, Mrs. Jobe still wanted to eat, so she ate for an hour more then Mr. Jobe. Per hour, she ate 19 gummy worms, and also ate the same amount of cupcakes as Mr. Jobe each hour. At the end of the party, if Mr. Jobe and Mrs. Jobe ate the same amount of items of junk food per hour, how many cupcakes did they each eat?

  6. THIS IS THE FINAL WORD PROBLEM:

One day, Mr. Forrestal had a "spooky Halloween bash", and he invited some of the teachers from KIS to the party. Mr. Forrestal invited Mr and Mrs. Jobe, Mr. Evans, Mr. Hernandez, Mr. Mclean, and Mr. Jaramillo. In one hour, Mr. Jobe the fairy ate 30 gummy worms, and some cupcakes. He ate the same amount every hour. But he stopped eating after three hours because he was about to puke all over his pink dress. However, Mrs. Jobe the flamingo still wanted to eat, so she ate for an hour more then Mr. Jobe.Per hour, she ate 19 gummy worms, and also ate the same amount of cupcakes that Mr. Jobe ate each hour.
But, at the end of the party, if Mr. Jobe and Mrs. Jobe ate the same amount of items of junk food in total, how many cupcakes did they each eat per hour?
