Equation #4

6 comments:

  1. There are 6 animals in the forest. One day a hunter comes and hunts and captures same amount of animals each days. He does this for four days. Then he sells the animals to two separate zoos for $350. How many animals did he capture each day and sold it to each zoo.? The amount he captured each day is equal to the amount he sold to the zoo,

  2. 1. It does fit for the most part but when the $350 thing comes up it doesn’t make sense. And how does it equal y? I could not write the entire equation from this story, due to the confusion with the equality of y.

    2. It does not make sense because $350 does not fit into any part of the equation. So, please explain how the equation equals y.

    3. No, grammatical errors.

    4. This story is very creative about hunters and animals. The answer is a little too obvious

    5. The word problem is very good at first part. The problem itself made sense only in the beginning.

    Grammar/Word Choice
•It would be better if you only used one out of "hunts" and "captures".
•We don't think you need the part where he sells them for $350.
•How many animals did he capture each day and sold it to each zoo.? The amount he captured each day is equal to the amount he sold to the zoo,->How many animals did he capture and sell to each zoo if the number of animals caught each day is equal to the amount he sold to the zoo?

We like the question, but the answer is too obvious. If there are only six animals in the forest, and you capture the same amount of animals each day, you can't catch more than one animals a day. But, good example though!

First of all, when we read the problem, we didn't know where the $350 came from. Also what does the variable 'y' represent? Overall, the idea of the problem is creative, however, we couldn't create the equation by reading the problem. You have one grammar mistake: " Then he sells the animals to two separate zoos for $350." It is Then, he sold the animals to two....." I liked your idea about the hunter and the animals, but I don't get why you asked How many animals did he capture each day. We don't really think that this question is relevant to the equation.
